The Kitchen: Finished - Final Accessories

I have finally sourced all of the finishing touches for the kitchen.....yay :-)

The final accessories have been added to the Bakers Stand, table, workbench, stove area and hutch. Now the kitchen is 'finished finished'!

The Kitchen: Architraves

The kitchen architraves are on. I went for staining rather than paint and selected a walnut stain which has a really warm tone to it.

The ceiling rose is up but I still need to install the cornice. I am also going to run a border of the tile pattern beside the cornice on the ceiling just to tie everything in. Once that is done I'll install the light fitting into the ceiling rose and also put a power point at the back of the room for a lamp.

Almost done, just need to do the cornice & ceiling detail

I tired to paint the ceiling rose in colours from the tile work.

Closer shot of the architraves

French doors which will connect to the conservatory

Door connecting to the ground floor stair well.

Door details and dado railing

Base door detail and wide skirting board

Dollhouse Exterior: Roof Shingles

The Dollhouse kit came with a standard MDF roof that had tile marks cut into it. It would  probably have looked OK just painted but I decided to shingle the whole thing.

Yep, I didn't really think that one through. After laying around 2000+ individual shingles just on one side of the roof, I still have the front side to go. This also involves cutting the shingles to fit around both of the small dormers and also the large bay dormer.

I have now come to terms with the fact that I often make idiotic decisions all for the sake of appearance, however I think it looks better than just paint, and may be worth the hand cramps and hate towards shingles that I have been experiencing!!
