The Kitchen: Finished - Final Accessories

I have finally sourced all of the finishing touches for the kitchen.....yay :-)

The final accessories have been added to the Bakers Stand, table, workbench, stove area and hutch. Now the kitchen is 'finished finished'!

The Kitchen: Architraves

The kitchen architraves are on. I went for staining rather than paint and selected a walnut stain which has a really warm tone to it.

The ceiling rose is up but I still need to install the cornice. I am also going to run a border of the tile pattern beside the cornice on the ceiling just to tie everything in. Once that is done I'll install the light fitting into the ceiling rose and also put a power point at the back of the room for a lamp.

Almost done, just need to do the cornice & ceiling detail

I tired to paint the ceiling rose in colours from the tile work.

Closer shot of the architraves

French doors which will connect to the conservatory

Door connecting to the ground floor stair well.

Door details and dado railing

Base door detail and wide skirting board

View from outside French doors into the kitchen.

In the Beginning there was......MDF!

I started this novice blog so I could share the progress of my 1:12 scale model house (Yep, also known as a big girly girl dollhouse) with my family and friends.

For the record, no dolls will be squatting in this house!

The dollhouse kit I purchased is called 'The Grange'. The kit comes with all the MDF sheeting pre-cut and you then assemble the whole thing. There are 9 rooms in the house. The photo below shows 8 rooms, but I am going to section the large top room into two.

So I have included the very beginning pictures of the dollhouse. The very first picture is pretty much where I started thinking what have I got myself into.............

In a world of clamps, glue, nails, instructions & mental pain!!

Walls up and undercoat on.

First coat of exterior paint done

Same as above, just a side view

Second interior undercoat done & Roof clamped on

More pieces that will EVENTUALLY end up on the house!
